This was a natural outcome since we are both college professors with an untold concern for children. Dr. Stephen Colbert is to be credited for bringing the congenital evil of the bear to the attention of the general public. It would be impossible to estimate the number of lives his inititive on Godless Killing Machines has saved. We are proud to be considered among the "it-getters" of the Colbert Nation.

The former web master simply had that site do nothing but present photos of bears, most of them engaged in abhorrent and unholy acts. While a laudable act - we need to be fearful of bears to survive - we were deeply concerned that this might traumatize this next generation of children. We are an educational web site. We recognize that fear is always a part of a solid education, however, simply learning about these lascivious bears will instill sufficient fear to protect the children of America (and maybe Canada).
